Writing Resources: Getting Organized

I am not an organized writer; in general, I am an organized person, but this gift abandons me when it comes to writing. Sometimes I can’t find my most recent notebook, the one that contans The Best Writing I’ve Ever Done; sometimes it’s my pen I can’t find, and anyone who writes by hand knows that you have to have The Pen or you can’t write, even if you could find the notebook.

I have no tips to help you get organized, but Julie Hood does, and she says it all: Take a look at OrganizedWriter.com, and spend some time browsing all the great stuff she has, much of it at no cost. I could spend hours on her site, learning something new with every click. And I just signed up for her free newsletter, which I should have done ages ago, and would have done if I were more organized. She offers free articles in addition to the free newsletter, and she has a resources page that will save you hours of time Googling. For me, going out to OrganizedWriter is like walking into a bookstore or a paper store and being completely absorbed by things I love.

Let’s beat the January rush and make an end of the year resolution to Get Organized. I’m starting with Julie Hood’s site.
