Maryam Webster’s entry about the Inner Smile reminds me of a favourite exercise to help the body to feel good.
The Body Blessing is a powerful technique for creating love between you and your body, and is based on the Inner Smile practice. It is fully described by Mantak Chia and Rachel Abrams, in the book The Multi-Orgasmic Woman: Discover Your Full Desire, Pleasure and Vitality.
As Chia and Abrams write, “if you don’t feel good about your body, it is hard for your body [which IS a big part of you!] to feel good.
And as I said in my last article, feeling good is essential for manifestation.
The way I practice this exercise is a little different than what Chia and Abram describe. I do it this way:
Begin by seeing an image of something loving in front of you. This can be anything that evokes love in you. I often use my husband (who I ADORE), a close friend, or the ocean.
Let this loving energy enter your body through your third eye.
Now direct it, one by one, to all the parts of your body.
As you bring this energy to each body part, notice any judgements you have about that body part, then release them. (Acknowledging the judgements is an key step in releasing them, don’t try to skip over this!)
After releasing judgements, ask yourself: what are the strengths of this body part? What do I appreciate it about it? What does it do for me? Send thanks, gratitude and loving energy to that part.
Finish by shaking your hands and feet to shake off any trapped negative energy that you still hold.
With this exercise, you’ll quickly feel love for your body as it is right now. And you’ll find yourself effortlessly more attractive to people and opportunities, more in love with yourself and your partner, and at ease with the world around you.
