HOWTO: Quickly Get An Online Presence

I’ve just dragged another person online by the hair of their head kicking and screaming, “I can’t do it, I’m online impaired, I’ll hate it, It will be too hard, etc.!” And, after a few days of playing, they are now purring, “I like it, it’s fun!”

How did that happen?

I persuaded them that they could create a beautiful blog at TypePad.com, got online with them, and walked them through getting it up and running, buying a doman name from GoDaddy.com, and setting the domain to forward to their new and nifty blog. And, then I held their hand and gently walked them trough tweaking it and making it run like the smooth and beautiful machine a blog site can be.

How did I learn so much? I took Andy Wibbels online course Easy Bake Weblogs, and finding I absolutely L O V E to make and use blogs, I proceeded to make a big bunch.

I’ve been enthusiastic about blogging ever since, and being talky, I share it. Hence, I created a site about blogging for the newbie and curious person. It’s at http://www.blognanny.com. I’ve also done the hand holding set up with a few friends and familly members, adding to the planet’s satisfaction level and enriching it by helping those who have great input to put it where others can get it.

Here are the Quick Ways To Get An Online Presence:

1. Get a TypePad blog.

Go to http://www.typepad.com and sign up for the mid range of service, which will give you three blogs. I know, you only want one, but you’ll get a fuller range of options with the mid level, and you will want three, believe me or not.

2. Check out Andy’s course online at http://www.easybakeweblogs.com. if you want to learn quickly and easily how to get the best from your TypePad blog, it’s a bargain, and it’s both easy and fun.

Or, go directly to your TypePad blog management pages and learn it from their own tutorial material. It’s not really difficult. I just like the quicker and easier route of a good course, which Andy’s is.
3. Start out by create your blog using one of TypePad’s templates. You can do a custom one later, all very easily changed and updateable in moments.

4. Visit my blog BlogNanny for more info on blogging.

I believe everyone needs an online presence. You can create a business blog, a blog that looks so much like a regular web site that no one will know it’s built on a blog platform–which is sooooooo much easier to build, maintain, update, and change.

Whether you are a coach, have a business, a hobby, a passion, special project, organization, ambition, or are just a creative person who loves to play you will profit from an online presence. And the easiest and best way will be through a good blog. Low cost, quick to learn, easy to do.
